DESCRIPTION:Join us in creating a labyrinth with “Labyrinth Lady” Ricia Fleming on August 25\, 2024 at 10am on King’s Beach. This beach has been the focus of much concern for years\, and we want to bring healing and grateful energy to it. \nHave you ever created or walked a labyrinth? It is a unique spiritual experience. Labyrinth walking is an ancient practice used by many different faiths for spiritual centering\, contemplation\, and prayer. It is a form of active meditation. Entering the serpentine path of a labyrinth\, you walk slowly while quieting your mind and focusing on a spiritual question or prayer. \nAll are welcome! Hosted by the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greater Lynn and our community partner\, Save King’s Beach. \nThings to know: \n-King’s Beach is located at 153 Lynn Shore Drive (right across from the Christian Scientist Church). DESCRIPTION:Join SPUR and the Phoenix Food Hub to make lasagnas for their clients to fight food insecurity. We will provide all the ingredients needed for the cooking. Families are encouraged to sign up! All the food will benefit clients at the Catholic Charities Food Bank. \nSPUR makes volunteering at any age easy by providing accessible opportunities that meet the tangible needs of the community. We offer a variety of thoughtful and flexible engagement opportunities which result in rewarding volunteer experiences and measurable community impact. Through our dynamic service-learning initiative\, we equip the youngest members of our community with tools to identify problems\, cultivate an innate response to community needs\, and develop as future change-makers. We SPUR others on to action\, embracing the notion that we can make positive change when we all work together to make a difference.

Attendees will also receive information regarding policies associated with a MA CORI when utilizing an individual’s criminal record for employment opportunities. There will also be an opportunity to hear about best practices\, educational opportunities\, and industry-based vocational training being offered to residents of the Department of Corrections. \nWho Should Participate? Employers\, human resource professionals\, hiring managers\, and community service providers who are interested in learning how to better understand and benefit from effectively interpreting criminal records of prospective employees to enhance their business operations and provide valuable employment opportunities for previously incarcerated individuals. \nAll are welcome to attend this FREE informational event
