DESCRIPTION:Government Affairs / Economic Dev’t Meeting \nWednesday | October 16 | 8:30-9:30 AM\nMeeting held in person at Lynn Community TV\nAlso held via Zoom \n\n\n\n \nGuest Speaker: Aaron Clausen\, Principal Planning Director\, City of Lynn\nTopic: Lynn Parking Study \nThe Parking Study aims to achieve the following:\n\nIdentify how Lynn’s existing parking supply can best support a diverse and vibrant economy\, and the downtown as a regional destination\nEnsure the parking system provides options for different types of users\nCreate a parking system that is easy to use and accessible for all residents\, businesses\, and visitors to Lynn’s downtown\nIntegrate the parking system with walk\, bike\, and transit networks\nIdentify priority improvements in Lynn that parking revenue can help fund\nStreamline how parking is managed and enforced\nEnsure the existing parking supply and policies can support and respond to Downtown’s future growth\nImplement good urban design objectives as standard practice in the parking program\, policies\, and creation of new parking facilities to facilitate a welcoming\, vibrant\, and walkable downtown environment\n\nThe Parking Study will include data collection\, comprehensive analysis\, and engagement with community stakeholders\, such as Downtown businesses\, residents\, property owners\, and visitors\, to inform the development of recommendations to improve the parking system.\n\nAaron will also briefly touch on the re-write of the zoning ordinance in the city but this topic will most likely be another stand-alone presentation in the future.\nCLICK HERE to register to attend meeting via Zoom \n  \n\nABOUT THE GAC COMMITTEE:\nCo-Chairs: Rick Starbard (Rick’s Auto Collision) & Glenn Morris (Morris Architects) \nOpen to All Members\n \nThe Government Affairs Committee is committed to reviewing\, developing\, and supporting issues that promote a positive\, pro-active economic environment and enhanced quality of life in the Lynn Area and regionally.
